XIth session of the Euro-Asian Law Congress

 

June 8-9, 2017, in the framework of the XIth session of the European-Asian Law Congress, Yekaterinburg held the Second Meeting of the Coordinating Committee of the BRICS Law Institute and the Legal Forum of Experts of the BRICS and Developing Countries.

Experts from the BRICS, Italy, Uruguay, Tanzania and other countries, as well as representatives of international organizations such as the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD), the International Institute for Harmonization of Private Law (UNIDROIT), took part in the event. Employees of the Institute took part in the meetings, presenting reports on topical issues of cooperation of the BRICS states in the field of finance and taxation.

 

As a result of the meeting, experts signed the Final Summary of the Discussion, which determined the results of the discussions and a plan for further expert work, as well as approved the drafts of the multilateral conventions of BRICS: (1) on cooperation in education, science and information, (2) on avoidance of double taxation in respect of certain types of income, (3) on the settlement of cross-border tax disputes.
