Consortium of Russian Universities

 

The establishment of the BRICS Law Institute was supported by the Consortium of Russian Universities under the auspices of the Association of Lawyers of Russia:

  • Ural State Law University;
  • Moscow State Law University;
  • Moscow State University;
  • St.-Petersburg State University.

 

13 - 16 October 2015 Shanghai (China) hosted the Second Legal Forum of the BRICS countries, which was attended by the delegates from the Association of Lawyers of Russia.

The event was held in the East China University of Political Science and Law. Each country presented their delegates from the national bar associations to participate in the Forum. The Russian delegation was headed by Chairman of the Association of Lawyers of Russia, Viktor Blazheev. The delegation also included Director of the BRICS Law Institute Danil Vinnitskiy, Chairman of the Association Commission on Legal Affairs of modern integration processes with the participation of the Russian Federation Alexei Klishin and Chief of Staff of the Association of Lawyers of Russia Stanislav Aleksandrov.

Special attention at the forum was devoted to legal education, partnerships between legal BRICS universities. Victor Blazheev met with the leadership of the East China University of Political Science and Law. During the meeting the issues of exchange of experience within the educational process, professional development, student exchange program, the development of joint educational programs, were discussed.

The Association of Lawyers of Russia considers it important to develop partnerships between the BRICS countries, in particular in the legal field, in the field of international law and the development of economic cooperation between Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS).
